Nude Nail Love

Afternoon one and all, I do love painting my nails, its something I have come to find very therapeutic as well as the little excitement I get when I see a new colour that I'm dying to try out staring at me in Boots or Superdrug, however today neither of my nail varnishes are from the above mentioned stores. Over the last day or so i have been rocking a gorgeous nude from Topshop in the shade 'Barefoot', which I have loved for such a long time.
I'm a sucker for a splash of glitter as well, so I paired it over the top with a O.P.I glitter in the shade 'The Living Day Lights', which is a silver, blue, gold and bronzed glitter with large glitter particles. I do love this as well, only problem is you don't get a lot of pay off with the glitter due to the size of them.
But for now I'm enjoying this Nail look, while it last at least, I cant seem to find any top coat to stop them chipping! Tweet me with any recommendations, I would love to hear them!

Clinique Crazed: HAUL & REVIEW

Afternoon guys, after my recent trip to Selfridges, I found myself heading towards the Clinique counter something i would not usually do. However i picked up a few things, and i have been loving them all so much!

The first item i got was the 'Clinique High Lengths Mascara which i have been really liking, its separates and lengthens really nicely, however the brush is something i found takes time to get to grips with....and still am, its one sided i think is the best way to explain it!

Next up is the 'Clinique, All About Eyes' which is just a eye cream, this i got free with a purchase. I've never been a eye cream gal, but i have been really enjoying this, its super soft and does not feel at all greasy on the eyes when applied.

'Clinique Chubby Stick' in No.13 'Mighty Mimosa', I love this shade its so soft on the lips and keeps them moisturised for a good couple of hours, and hold its colour, which is gorgeous coral pink. This one in particular has gold flecks running through it and shows up lightly on the lips which is a nice touch.

CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK IN 'MIGHTY MIMOSA'
To go with 'Might Mimosa' I have No.6 in 'Woppin' Watermelon' which is such a fun girlie pick colour. Its just a easy colour to wear, with any look!
'CHUBBY STICK IN WOPPIN' WATERMELON'

And last, but by no means least is the infamous 'Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara'. You can not fault this little thing, it makes applying mascara to bottom lashes easy and relatively clump free with its teeny tiny brush! Two thumbs up!

Selfridges Summer Beauty Event 2013: The review

Thursday night i attended the Selfridges Summer Beauty event. You walk into to what is already a bustling store, but this was intense there were people packed in, music blaring and everyone generally having a good time.

The first place we decided to have a look round, is my go to, MAC. With the wrist band given when presented your tickets, you had access to lost of fun little freebees! I booked into for a quick eye makeup with one of the artist working on the MAC stand named Laura, who was so nice as well.
I decided to go for a brown day time smokey eye, she was so lovely and explained why she was using the products she had chosen, why the brushes and explained the technique so if i wanted to i could try and recreate the look.

Laura used, MAC Painterly Paintpot on the eye, MAC eyeshadow in Cork, Shroom and Texture on the lid, with Teddy Eye pencil just lining along the top, and gently lining 3/4 the way underneath the bottom lashes, and blended out.
I love the looked she created, it is so simple and easy to recreate as well. I loved that only a few products were used, and even better Laura only used two brushes, one being the classic 207, which i highly rate, and second being a 239, which I'm hoping to get soon!
You can buy both brushes at the mac store online, 207 Brush & 239 Brush.

The lovely people at Thierry Mugler were giving out free 5ml samples of their classic Angel, which is just a gorgeous scent that i have liked for a long time as well. Also, over at Dior, they were giving manicures for those who had booked in advance, as well as free Dior lollypops!

After enjoying our freebees, we wondered over to Clinique, where my Mummy got to try out the Bottom Lash Mascara, which we ended up buying, along with a Chubby Stick in 'Might Momosa' (No.13)  both of which you can purchase online, Here.

They also were giving out, free snow cones, i opted for Watermelon and my Mummy decided to go for lychee, as well as candy floss and popcorn!

We ended our fun filled evening with a quick bite to eat in pizza express.
I had so much fun at the Selfridges Summer beauty event, and look forward to going again next year and to any other events they may be hosting again soon. I highly recommended going to anyone who's up for a fun night out!

don't forget to tweet me @lndgirlblogging and let me know if you were there!

I'm thinking of doing a product haul of what i got as well?! thoughts?

have a lovely Saturday guys

All Grown Up!

After browsing The Sun's website today, i was reading an article about Selena Gomez's new music video for 'Come and Get it'. Wow, is all there is to say, she looks beyond amazing and i'm sure Justin is feeling pretty sorry for himself now. Her Makeup is beautiful, mature but sassy and sexy, she grown up since her Disney days.

I love the gold shadow on the lid, something like 'Smog' from Urban Decay Naked palette 2 or Mac Pigment in 'Old Gold' would do the trick nicely, as well with the dark liner (either shadow or gel) to compliment her eyes and give a sultry look.

I'm not a massive red lip rocker, at all to be honest, but here it just works so perfectly well together, i may be daring a go get me a red lipstick and try it out!

Here are some shots from the video which is below as well, think i may give this look a go as well

April Faves

As April has now left us, scarily, and may has arrived i thought it fitting to post 'April Faves'. I have a few for this month as i have been in the middle of still trialing new products, here are mine! Tweet me yours @lndgirlblogging

Hair accessories, mainly big fun bows, the pink one is from Forever 21 (£2.50), the gold sequinned one is from Topshop (£5.00) and the Peach and glitter butterfly clips are from Forever 21 as well (£1.50). I've been loving wearing these with my hair down in loose curls.
New nail obsession is Essie 'Splash of Grenadine'. I picked this up in Superdrug for £7.99. This has just made my week, month, year. I'm just in love  with it, simple as. It is so pigmented the colour is so strong, i have two coats on just because i like my nail varnish to be quite thick, and just topped of with a clear coat from Miss Sporty, its going strong chip wise so far! Two thumbs up!
I love all the Johnson's skin care range. I personally enjoy using wipes to remove my make up and these i can not fault, they get everything off including waterproof mascara as well as being super moisturising, they are super big wipes so that can be used all over the face. These were £2.50 from Superdrug.
To go with my cute hair accessories, i have been using my Vidal Sassoon curling wand, i'm not sure which one this is as it was a present, but i love it. It has a variable heat setting, and warms up super quick. It creates either loose waves & curls or tight ones as well. I like to set and secure my hair with the L'Oreal Elnett Satin 'So Sleek' (what a mouthful!) hair spray, this holds nicely without causing the hair to go crunchy and can be brushed out easily as well.
And finally, non-beauty related is my Contact lenses. This month i started back using them again, and I'm so glad i did, i love them! I got mine from Specsavers and i pay £18 a month for 30 pairs but there are various types of price plans you can choose to suit you and your eye's needs. If you've been thinking about trying out lenses i would 100% recommend heading down to your local Specsavers and having a chat and possibly trying out the trial period lenses!
